Professional Development Options

What technology professional development options would you like to see at Maryvale for the 2009-2010 school year? One idea is to create a one-to-one program tailored to individuals' needs. This is good way to learn about each teacher's skills and what they want to learn and apply in the classroom. Another idea is to hold Tech Skills days after school once or twice a month. Teachers could sign up to attend a Tech Skill session and be responsible for their own learning by doing this. What ideas do you have?

    I would like to see some times set aside for teachers with similar interests in the technology area to get together to learn more and share what they have been doing. I also think in departments we could talk and see if we have some things we want to learn about technology particular to our areas of education and then we could see if we could meet some time and get some instruction on those topics.

    I like the one-on-one option. I learn from the group sessions, but sometimes when I go to apply the program myself, I run into difficulties.

    I like the one-to-one option but I can't imagine how that could work since there is only 1 Lisa. Can we clone Lisa? Would we use the tech leaders again?We could do some of the tech by department but there are many things that are not dept related.
